MoCl5 is volatile crystal of high-purity and refractory metal halide. It is volatile in moderate temperature, decomposes to metal molybdenum deposits in gaseous state, and is easily soluble in organic solvent.
Used as the component of chloridizing catalyst and fire-resistant resin, used in production of hexacarbonylmolybenum and metal organic compound. Also used in Pesticide Intermediates.
